What happened
- Base Carbon funded distribution of ~250K fuel-efficient cookstoves in rural Rwanda. Partner: DelAgua Group. ~4.6M VM0050 credits expected over project life. First Verra 'Article 6 Authorized' label applied Dec 2023. ~1.1M credits in inventory as of May 2026. CORSIA-eligible credits. First monetisation of credits post-VM0050 transition completed Q1 2026.
Kumo note
- Base Carbon advances project capital and is repaid in carbon credits rather than cash. Base Carbon calls it a prepayment for credits in its own releases, and books it as an investment in carbon credit projects that converts to credit inventory on delivery. Credits issued to DelAgua carry a revenue share, which Base Carbon books as a separate revenue participation asset.
