What happened
- BURN received a US$5 million investment from EDFI Management Company through ElectriFI, the EU-funded electrification financing facility it manages (also supported by USAID's Power Africa and the governments of Sweden and Italy), to scale electric cooking in Kenya. The funding is to move more than 100,000 Kenyan households to clean electric cooking and expand distribution of BURN's IoT-enabled ECOA induction stove. The release does not state the instrument; Launchbase Africa describes an unsecured loan.
