What happened

Frontier pre-purchase of 3,212 t of in-situ mineralisation removal from Cella, funding a second injection well at the Kenyan DAC demonstration hub. Closing wording: "Google, Stripe, and Shopify have made carbon dioxide removal (CDR) prepurchases from Cella and PRONOE, allocating $3.05 million in deals facilitated by the Frontier coalition" (Carbon Herald, 14 January 2026). Cella's share of the US$3.05m is not disclosed, so no value is booked. Tonnage from Frontier's portfolio page. No member is named as the payer, so the deal stays with Frontier (coalition) and is credited to no capital provider.

Kumo note

- A Frontier pre-purchase that funds a second injection well at Cella's Kenyan DAC demonstration hub, expanding how much CO2 it can inject into basalt.
