What happened

An additional NZ$117m into the New Zealand government and industry joint venture that invests in livestock methane reduction technologies, taking total funding since 2023 from NZ$191m to NZ$308m. Recorded at the NZ$117m increment; the NZ$308m cumulative figure is not booked as a deal. Closing wording: "has closed on an additional NZ$117 million in capital". Alliance Group and Farmlands join as new shareholders alongside eleven existing shareholders. The government, through the Ministry for Primary Industries, holds 50 per cent and matches all private funding dollar for dollar. National Australia Bank, through its Bank of New Zealand subsidiary, disclosed NZ$4.2m, the only individual ticket published, taking its cumulative contribution to NZ$8.2m. AgriZeroNZ deploys this capital into third-party companies, so it is recorded at vehicle level: it has previously invested NZ$9.9m into a US methane vaccine developer and NZ$4.1m into a US start-up, among others.
