What happened

Bloomineral (France) announced a EUR 1.2m pre-seed round led by Carbon Drawdown Initiative, with CarbonFix, Bpifrance, RAISE Sherpas and WILCO (Carbon Removal Weekly, week 39, 21-27 Sep 2026: "announced a EUR 1.2 million pre-seed round led by Carbon Drawdown Initiative, with backing from CarbonFix, Bpifrance, RAISE Sherpas and WILCO"). The company turns CO2 into calcium carbonate through biomineralisation using macroalgae. The amount is in euros and no USD equivalent is stated, so no US$ value is recorded and the deal ranks by count only.

Kumo note

Biomineralisation start-up turning industrial CO2 into calcium carbonate with macroalgae, backed by a Swiss non-profit fund, a carbon standard's accelerator cohort, the French state investor and two French early-stage programmes.
