What happened
- US$30m Series A into Mombak the operating company, led by Union Square Ventures with Kaszek, Bain Capital and AXA IM Alts returning and Lowercarbon Capital and Copa Investimentos new. Corporate equity, distinct from the LP capital of The Amazon Reforestation Fund at EQ-119. Sources give Mombak cumulative raise as US$200m at this point; that is a lifetime total, not a transaction, and is not recorded as one.

- The round that funds the operator rather than the fund. Mombak runs a fund-and-operator structure, so LP capital sits in the Amazon Reforestation Fund vehicles while the company raises its own equity alongside. Reading the two as one raise is the commonest error on this name.
