What happened
- Microsoft agreed to purchase up to 23,602 carbon removal units from CREW Carbon's wastewater alkalinity enhancement technology. CREW doses alkaline minerals (e.g. calcium carbonate) into existing wastewater treatment plants, converting dissolved CO2 into stable bicarbonate ions discharged to oceans, rivers or aquifers. First commercial project is at the East Shore facility in New Haven, CT (40M gallons/day), set to be one of the largest CDR projects on the US East Coast. Adds a new pathway to Microsoft's carbon-negative-by-2030 portfolio. Price not disclosed.
