What happened
- Etihad Airways expanded its carbon offset programme in partnership with Shell Aviation, buying nature-based offsets from three projects including the Katingan Mentaya Project (Indonesia); the others are Makame Savannah (Tanzania) and Cordillera Azul National Park (Peru). The release gives 80,000 tonnes purchased in November 2020 across the three projects and no split by project, so no Katingan volume is recorded. Payment timing is not stated. Recorded, not ranked.
Kumo note
- Etihad sourced its nature-based offsets through Shell Aviation's programme rather than buying direct from the developers.
