What happened
- Volkswagen Group announced on 19 September 2019 that it would use carbon credits from Katingan Mentaya (Central Kalimantan, Indonesia; Verra VCS 1477), with Permian Global as project partner, to offset unavoidable CO2 emissions from the supply chain, production and logistics of its ID.3 electric car. Permian Global's own statement confirms Volkswagen has purchased verified emission reductions from the project. Volume, price and payment timing are not published. Recorded, not ranked: payment timing is not stated.
Kumo note
- The first project in Volkswagen's forest conservation offset programme, bought to cover emissions from the ID.3 electric car's supply chain and production.
