What happened

Rubicon Carbon supplies Microsoft with two million tonnes of carbon removal credits from the Kijani Forestry project in Uganda. Rubicon's release states it is providing long-term capital to the project, but gives no amount, no timing and no instrument, so no financing is recorded and the row does not rank. Three parties sit on one contract chain: Kijani generates the credits, Rubicon contracts and supplies them, Microsoft is the end buyer. No contract value or price is disclosed.

Kumo note

A two million tonne supply from a single Ugandan afforestation project, reaching a corporate buyer through an intermediary rather than directly, which is increasingly how African nature-based volume gets to a balance sheet that can contract at that size. Rubicon says it is putting long-term capital into the project alongside the offtake; no amount has been published, so the financing behind this contract is not recorded here.
